The short version
Flint is a local-first app. Your clips, tags, and settings live on your own devices. Flint communicates directly with your PC over your local network and never sends your data to us or anyone else.
What data Flint stores
Flint stores your app preferences, pairing information (such as your PC's local IP address and OBS WebSocket port), custom tag definitions, and clip metadata locally on your device. Video files are saved and processed on your own streaming PC and device — never on our servers.
Local network communication only
Flint connects from your phone directly to OBS Studio on your computer using a WebSocket connection over your local network (for example, your home Wi-Fi). This traffic never leaves your network and never passes through a third-party server. There is no cloud relay and no middleman.
Zero third-party analytics
Flint contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising trackers, and no crash-reporting services that transmit your usage data. We don't collect telemetry about how you use the app, what you clip, or when you stream.
What we don't collect
We do not collect your stream footage, clips, account credentials, contacts, precise location, or device identifiers for tracking purposes. There is nothing to sell, share, or leak — we simply don't have your data.
App store data
Apple's App Store and Google Play may collect their own anonymized install and crash statistics according to their respective store policies. These are governed by Apple and Google's privacy terms, not ours.
Deleting your data
Because all data is stored locally, deleting the app (and clearing its app data) removes everything Flint has stored. There is no server-side account to delete.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Flint handles data, we will update this page and note the date of the change. The local-first, no-analytics commitment is core to the product.
